Medical Assistant Schools Online

Registered Health Care Workers

July 11th, 2009 by ewwink

An assistant is a tool, electronic or otherwise, who or that helps another person accomplish his or her goals. Some assistants are strictly based at one’s place of employment, while others assist with personal, sometimes home-related tasks. In cases where the assistant is heavily relied upon, the assistant may be known as a right-hand man or yes-man.

Medical Assistants can be certified or registered health care workers who perform the administrative and clinical tasks that keep the offices of licensed health practitioners running smoothly. They should not be confused with physician assistants. Medical assistants have traditionally held jobs almost exclusively in ambulatory care centers, urgent care facilities, and clinics, but this is now changing. Medical assistants now find employment in both private and public hospitals, as well as inpatient and outpatient facilities.

St. Augustine School of Medical Assistants is a private school incorporated in the British Virgin Islands specializing in distance education training programs for medical assistants and related health care professionals. Medical assistant distance education is emerging to meet the demands of a new generation of Medical Assistant students in the twenty first century. St. Augustine Medical Assistant School distance education program for medical assistant presents a good model for this integration of technology with medical assistant education.
