Much has been said about the opportunities and benefits available to nurses all over the world, that several doctors are already contemplating changing their expertise and shift to the nursing field. In small practices, medical assistants usually do administrative and clinical duties and reporting directly to an office manager, physician, or other health practitioner. Those in large practices tend to specialize in a particular area, under the supervision of department administrators.What is attractive about the job of being a medical assistant is that employment is projected to grow much faster than average. They are even ranked among the fastest growing occupations over the 2006-16 decade. Job opportunities are excellent so far, especially for those with formal training or experience, and certification.Formal trainings can be availed of in various Medical Assistant Schools, but there is a formal training online being offered by the St. Augustine School of Medical Assistants for those who do not have any regular available time to go attend classes. Their program allows students to study from their home at their own pace and convenience.Most students complete the program in about 6-8 weeks. However, for those who are raising a family and cannot afford to spend more time online, they can take the course as long as needed. This means there are no deadlines or time limits, which is very practical nowadays.
